Deprecation Policy and Model Tiers
noris guarantees predictability when retiring models. Every model is assigned a tier that determines its deprecation notice period.
Tier Model
Section titled “Tier Model”| Tier | Deprecation Notice |
|---|---|
| Experimental | 2 weeks |
| Productive | 3 months, end of month |
| LTS | 6 months, end of month |
Tier Lifecycle
Section titled “Tier Lifecycle”- A model is introduced as Experimental to evaluate it under real-world conditions.
- Once the model is deployed productively, it’s promoted to Productive.
- If the model becomes business-critical, it can be promoted to LTS.
Customer-Initiated Tier Promotion
Section titled “Customer-Initiated Tier Promotion”You can request that a model be promoted to a higher tier, for example, when an Experimental model is to be moved into a production application. noris decides on the promotion based on the following criteria:
- Customer relevance: the model’s strategic importance to your company
- Commitment: your existing commitment level (affects rate limits and terms)
- Market: adoption and demand for the model
- Model: technical suitability, stability, and support effort
