noris Enterprise Cloud (nEC)

The noris Enterprise Cloud (nEC) is a VMware-based cloud solution by noris network, managed via VMware Cloud Director.

From first login to your first VM

1. Log in. Open the URL provided for your region (see How is the nEC reachable?) and sign in with the orgadm access sent to you by email. Change its password as soon as possible (see Important note about the orgadm access) and familiarize yourself with navigating Cloud Director.
2. Set up your own access (recommended). The orgadm access does not support two-factor authentication and is not intended for ongoing use. Instead, set up your own authentication source (SAML/OIDC) and accounts with minimal privileges, see Creating access for workload management.
3. Create a network, NAT, and firewall. Every VM needs a reachable network. The one-time basic setup is described in Setting Up the Network (Network, NAT, Firewall).
4. Create your first VM. Choose a suitable template and create the VM in the Data Center, described step by step in Creating a VM.
